Hi, I’m Laura.
I deliver innovative solutions and creativity to the ever-evolving beauty industry.
My Philosophy
In coming to Syracuse University, I was lost. Like many freshly 18 year olds, I struggled to determine the exact path I wanted to be on for the rest of my professional life. Looking back on my experience now as a senior, I am able to piece together how each person, place, moment over the past three years has given me the confidence and security in entering the workforce. I had the immense privilege of growing up in a very supportive family. From a very young age I was told I could be whatever I dreamed of being. From that point on I threw myself into theater, music, and all things arts related. It provided me with the experience I needed to excel in any professional setting. The arts are a mix of creativity, improvisation, teamwork, and passion. These are all skills I have been harnessing since I was 11 years old; skills that have become integral parts of who I am as an individual, as a performer, and as a student.
Organizational Skills
As the Front Desk Secretary at the Leonia Swim Club I specifically managed all memberships, registrations, lessons, and check ins requiring organizational skills and flexibility
Special Skills
Effective Communication
As President of The Mandarins A cappella group for two years I am in charge of scheduling, communicating with event planners, and ensuring all members will be in attendance. I am also the number one resource for each member and have made a priority of making sure each member feels valued and heard.
Flexibility
When Volunteering, you must be ready to adapt at any moment with limited resources. This is something I became very accustomed to as a volunteer in my local town. I aided with vaccine distribution in my recreation center as well as participated in town events making me quick on my feet and ready to find solutions.
What Professors are Saying
“It has been a joy to have Laura in two of my classes. She is a bright light for several reasons. I appreciate her attentiveness and energy, as well as her contributions during discussions. In Small Group Communication, she is a willing and enthusiastic group member, working to create synergy in her teams. In Interviewing, she has presented outstanding work and given excellent feedback and support to her classmates. I am grateful to have such an intelligent, compassionate student who not only takes her studies seriously, but also brings passion and sincerity to her classroom environment.” - Professor Anne Jakowenko
